The College of Veterinary Science, Korutla was established on 10.10.2008 as a constituent College under Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

Consequent to the formation of the State of Telangana, the Govt. of Telangana has established a separate Veterinary University by name Sri P. V. Narsimha Rao Telangana State University for Veterinary, Animal and Fishery Sciences. The College has been brought under the fold of this new University from November, 2014. Presently, this University is renamed as P. V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University.

At present, the College is located in a modern building at Korutla and has 21 Departments and offers B.V.Sc & A.H Degree Program as per the VCI (MSVE- 2016) regulation. Clinical training is imparted at Clinical complex located on the campus and various Livestock Units are maintained in the Livestock Farm Complex of the College. UG students are imparted with hands on skills regarding the management of various livestock species Viz., cattle, buffaloes, sheep, goats, rabbits and poultry etc.

A spacious Library is present in the College with best of its kind facilities such as LAN and books suitable for UG teaching. This college has Physical education unit headed by Physical Director who looks after the sports, games and cultural activities of students and staff.

This college has National Service Scheme unit where in students do service on campus and in the villages. The teaching staff are engaged not only in teaching but also in research and extension activities. At present there are about 224 girls and 143 boys on rolls.
