National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is operated in the college by NSS Programme Officer to develop the personality and character of the student through voluntary community service. As a part of NSS activity, students educate the villagers about the importance of health and hygiene for better living. The students make aware the villagers about the safe disposal of waste and take part in one of the identified works that the village needs immediate attention.

The NSS wing of the College is organizing regular activities in the campus. During the programme, campus cleaning activities and plantation are taken up. During world environment days (5th June), every year Haritha Haaram programme is being organized in the campus.

Placement Cell

The College has placement cell managed by officer In-charge Placement cell for career guidance to Students for pursuing Higher Studies and various jobs. Wide publicity is given as and when various organizations approach the college for their requirement of graduates. All possible help is being extended to the graduates to find a suitable job. Campus interviews are also being arranged whenever required by the organizations.

The main activities of the Placement Cell include:
  • Creating a database of the alumni of the college.
  • Creating a database of the probable recruiters including both Govt. and private sector.
  • Creating a database of successful and distinguished alumni who have achieved and contributed significantly to the society.
  • Organizing campus interviews for the recruitment of the graduates of the College by potential employers.
  • Notifying requests from private organizations and job advertisements requiring fisheries graduates to the student community.
  • To provide guidance to students for skill improvement by organizing the trainings for personality development, communication skill, mock group discussions etc. as well as training for competitive examinations for ARS/fellowships/ civil services etc.
Co-Curricular Activities

In College of Fishery Science, Pebbair; Non-Credit courses are offered under Physical Education such as Swimming and Yoga during B.F.Sc curriculum. There are different facilities of Sports available.

All the facilities are provided for taking part in inter-class, Inter-college and interuniversity sports and cultural activities to improve their hidden talents. Major National and State level festivals will be organized.

Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC)

In accordance with the UGC regulations to curb the menace of ragging, the college has formed an anti-ragging committee to prohibit, prevent and completely wipe out the menace of ragging from the campus.

Objectives:
  • To generate an atmosphere of safety and discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished
  • To aware the students of dehumanizing effect of ragging inherent in its perversity.
  • To prevent any act or action regarding attempt of raging.
  • To ensure equal opportunity to boys and girls in college against any grievances.
  • To make awareness in the society about the ill effects of Ragging.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
Extension Activities

Faculty of the college are instrumental in bringing out developments in the fisheries sector in the State of Telangana through various extension and training programs covering all aspects of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Involved in farm advisory services, answer to farmer’s queries, organizes mass awareness programmes, Fish farmers’ meets, Industry-Institute meets and Exhibitions.

Educational Tours:

Students are exposed to the practical aspects of fish and fisheries related activities by arranging Field Trips and Tours in our state as well as neighboring states.

  • Organizing guest lectures on different subjects.
  • College will celebrate Independence Day, Republic Day, Gandhi Jayanti, Teachers Day, National Fish farmers Day, University Formation Day, College Foundation Day, College Day etc. every year.
