Achievements

- This Research Station was bestowed with National Kamadhenu Award, 2017 (South Zone) in commemoration of World Milk Day Celebrations by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India.
- The Station has till date supplied about 60 Murrah young bulls and nearly 600 Nellore brown breeding Rams/Ram lambs to the needy farmers besides 15.3 lakhs of fodder slips of APBN/Co 4/Super napier varieties .
- Conducted about 80 training programmes to farmers on dairy farming, sheep farming and also on the production of pe rennial fodder crops.
- The impact of the training is reflected in bringing the unorganized dairy/sheep farmers to develop perennial fodders with a slogan of “No green fodder:No milk”. This resulted in increased milk production and savings on concentrate feed by reducing feeding of concentrate feed and dry fodder, which is a normal adopted practice.
