The Department came into existence in the year 1964. Besides teaching and research the department also caters to the technical needs of farming community and institutions such as Zoo Park, Race Club, National Police Academy etc. The faculty has developed a comprehensive museum which has a huge collection of Pathological specimens. The Department has excellent laboratory with microtome, Humacount, Cryostat etc. and has dedicated post mortem facility for both large and small animals. The Department has undertaken 13 research projects independently and in collaboration with other Departments. The PG programme was introduced in the year 1988. Since then, 40 PG students rolled out from the Department.
